SOFTWARE SUPPORT POLICY

JAMS Software

Effective

AUGUST 2026

The most current version of this Software Support Policy is always available online at www.jamsscheduler.com. Printed or downloaded copies may not reflect subsequent updates.

Purpose

At JAMS, we are committed to continuously improving the quality of our products and services. To support these efforts, we are introducing this JAMS Software Support Policy that defines the gradual retirement of older versions of some of our products.

This policy provides clearly defined lifecycle and support terms explaining how available technical support and maintenance services (“Technical Support”) will change through the course of the application lifecycle. Adopting this Software Support Policy will enable JAMS users to better plan for major version upgrades while staying current with security and performance updates.

Support Levels

JAMS delivers fixes and enhancements through two mechanisms. A Patch is applied in place at the release the customer is already running – it does not require an uninstall or reinstall. An Incremental Software Update is a cumulative new version; moving to it (or to the Current Version generally) requires the customer to upgrade in-place or uninstall the prior release and install the new one. The Current Version and any release designated as Active Support may receive their own Incremental Software Updates directly. Versions under Limited Support do not receive further updates of any kind; resolving a defect at these versions requires updating to a version under Active Support.

1. Active Support

The Current Version of the software is always under Active Support, and JAMS also designates certain recent prior releases as Active Support versions. JAMS may also designate additional prior releases as Active Support exclusively for customers on a Premium Support plan; for customers not on a Premium Support plan, those same releases are classified as Limited Support. Where a designated prior release has multiple point releases (e.g., 7.8.0, 7.8.1, 7.8.2, 7.8.3), only the latest point release within that family (e.g., 7.8.3) carries the Active Support designation, consistent with the rule above. Earlier point releases within the same family are classified as Limited Support, and customers running one of those must update at least to the latest point release in that family (e.g., 7.8.3) to receive Critical defect patching in place.

  • Current Version: JAMS remediates defects – both Critical and Routine – through ongoing Incremental Software Updates.

  • Designated prior releases (latest point release in the family only): For Critical defects, including critical security vulnerabilities, JAMS may remediate the issue with a Patch – applied in place, with no uninstall or reinstall required – or may determine that updating to the Current Version or the latest point release in a given family is the more appropriate remedy, at JAMS’s discretion. Patches do not include Routine Bug Fixes or enhancements; customers who want those need to update to the Current Version.

Technical Support is readily available for all Active Support versions. JAMS periodically announces which releases are designated Active Support and will provide advance notice before a release moves from Active Support to Limited Support. To get the full benefit of ongoing fixes and enhancements, JAMS recommends running the Current Version.

2. Limited Support

Technical Support continues to be available for versions classified as Limited Support. JAMS does not make Critical or Routine Bug Fixes to the software in this version. Where a customer reports a defect, JAMS Technical Support will troubleshoot the issue and, where applicable, confirm whether updating to a version under Active Support resolves it. Resolving the defect requires updating to a supported version rather than receiving a fix at the version currently in use.

3. End of Life

Versions classified as End of Life (EOL) are no longer supported for the purpose of troubleshooting or resolving issues in that version. JAMS will not investigate, diagnose, or attempt to remediate defects at an EOL version. JAMS will, however, continue to take customer calls and will work with customers to plan and support their path to a supported version.

JAMS always gives warning before a version moves to End of Life and works with active customers using any such version to migrate to a newer version. Customers are free to run the software unsupported, or JAMS may offer Legacy Support Agreements on a case-by-case basis. Customers interested in a Legacy Support Agreement should contact their JAMS account representative.

Product Version Numbering

JAMS products are typically assigned version numbers in the format X.Y.Z., where X is a major release number, Y is a minor release number, and Z reflects an interim change to a minor release. An example version number is 7.8.3. An interim change would increment to 7.8.4. A new minor release would increment to 7.9.0. A new major release would increment to 8.0.0.

Product Supported Version Timelines

Any given software version is classified under Active Support for a finite period following its release. The particular timelines for each software product are detailed below for all recent software versions. Note that any prior version of any of the software products not listed here is considered End of Life.

Change Notifications

Changes to JAMS products and services may be more frequent and require customers to be alerted for forthcoming modifications to their product or service.

Unless otherwise noted, JAMS’s policy is to provide a minimum 30 days’ notification when customers are required to take action in order to avoid material interruption of their use of the product or service.

Notification of Patches is made simultaneously with availability. JAMS recommends customers adopt these updates immediately.

JAMS will provide a minimum of six (6) months’ notification prior to moving a version to End of Life status if no successor product or service is offered – excluding free services or preview releases.

Appendix A – Definitions

Term

Definition

Active Support

The support classification for the Current Version and any releases JAMS designates as Active Support versions. See Support Levels, Section 1, for details on Technical Support availability and fix delivery.

Limited Support

The support classification for versions no longer eligible for Patches or Incremental Software Updates. See Support Levels, Section 2, for details on Technical Support availability.

End of Life

The support classification for versions no longer eligible for Technical Support troubleshooting or defect remediation. See Support Levels, Section 3, for details.

Current Version

The latest available version of the software.

Major Release

The introduction of an entirely new software product or an upgrade to an existing product that includes substantial changes, including new features and functionality, enhancements, product fixes, and sometimes architectural changes.

Minor Release

The introduction of product improvements, new features, and capabilities that address specific issues and fixes to the Current Version of the product.

Critical Bug Fix

Fixes to address defects that cause significant disruption to core functionality – things like system crashes, data loss or corruption, security vulnerabilities, or failures that block users from completing essential workflows. These are issues where the impact is severe enough that leaving them unresolved poses meaningful risk to the customer’s business. These are only available for versions under Active Support.

Routine Bug Fix

Fixes to address defects that are real but have a workaround, affect edge cases or non-core functionality, cause minor inconvenience, or have limited business impact. These are issues that would be addressed in an Incremental Software Update, not a Patch.

Incremental Software Update

A cumulative release of the software, built forward from the version it updates and including the contents of all previous updates. Incremental Software Updates are the mechanism by which JAMS delivers Critical and Routine Bug Fixes, and may also include new features or enhancements, to the Current Version. Incremental Software Updates are not available for versions under Limited Support or End of Life.

Patch

A remediation of one or more Critical Bug Fixes, including critical security vulnerabilities, applied in place to a release designated as Active Support. A Patch does not include Routine Bug Fixes or enhancements and does not require updating to a new version. Patches are available only for releases designated as Active Support – not for the Current Version, which receives Critical and Routine fixes through Incremental Software Updates, and not for versions under Limited Support or End of Life.

Technical Support

Support provided by JAMS to customers, including the ability of customers to submit a ticket or call the JAMS Support team for assistance with the product.

Premium Support

A separately purchased support plan that delivers faster SLAs with default Severity 1 RCA (and RCA on request for Sev 2–4), an annual system health check, bi-annual reviews with support leadership, yearly upgrade assistance (including after-hours help), a 120-day temporary license key for upgrades or other needs, and four flexible service deliverables covering things like implementation advisory, custom reporting, workload integration, workaround design, or job optimization. A Premium Support plan also extends Active Support eligibility to certain designated prior releases that would otherwise be classified as Limited Support for standard customers. See Support Levels, Section 1, for details on how Premium Support affects version eligibility.

Legacy Support Agreement

A separately negotiated contract available to customers running software versions classified as End of Life. A Legacy Support Agreement provides continued Technical Support for a defined period beyond the standard product lifecycle, on a case-by-case basis. Legacy Support Agreements do not allow for Patches or other remediation of bug fixes.
